On August 6, 2020 pure horror shook the family of two year old Gideon Barideaux. While in the care of his mother, Jennifer Barideaux and her boyfriend, longtime criminal, Tadeo Raymond Garces Jr., Gideon suffered life threatening injuries. Kerrville Police Department (Texas) were dispatched to the home of Gideon on the call of an injured child. Upon arriving and assessing Gideon’s injuries, the two year old was immediately transported by EMS to Peterson Regional Medical center, later being transported by air ambulance to a hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
Tragically, Gideon was unable to recover from his injuries and he died three days later, on August 9, 2020 in San Antonio. Physicians stated Gideon’s injuries were not consistent with an accidental fall as originally stated by Gideon’s mother, Jennifer. The Bexar County Medical examiner ruled Gideon’s death as a homicide. To date no one has been charged with his murder. But here’s what we know:
- Gideon was in the sole care of Jennifer Barideaux and Tadeo Garces Jr. at the time of his injuries.
- Gideon’s homicide is still being investigated by KPD with no murder charges to date.
- The 216th DA’s office, KCSO, federal agencies and state agencies are assisting with the investigation.
- Kerr County Crime Stoppers is offering a $5000 reward for any information leading to an arrest for Gideon’s murder. The tip line is: (830)-896-8477
As of October 20, 2020, both Jennifer Barideaux and her boyfriend, Tadeo Garces Jr. were both arrested for tampering with evidence in relation to deleted text messages on their phones that were seized as evidence in Gideon’s homicide investigation. Jennifer is currently being held on $15,000 bond, while Garces is being held on $45,000 bond due to his lengthy criminal history.
